Flood Insurance Producers National Committee (FIPNC)

In 2020, Joe was appointed to the Flood Insurance Producers National Committee (FIPNC) by the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers Association (IIABA) otherwise known as the Big I.  

This national committee works closely with the Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration (FIMA) to provide expertise in the areas of flood insurance product design and development, insight on marketing and servicing the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), and guidance in the overall operation of the NFIP.  The FIPNC also provides professional advice and counsel on all issues related to insurance agents’ involvement in the NFIP and flood insurance.

Joe is one of only six agents nationally on the committee, one of two representatives from the IIABA, and is the incoming Chair of FIPNC. 

Members of FIPNC FIPNC is made up of the nations three major insurance associations: Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers (CIAB), Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA), and the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA). Joe currently Chairs the IIABA Flood Insurance Subcommittee.

What does FIPNC do?

FIPNC periodically brings together a small group of professionals who serve as representatives of formally established professional constituencies. These members represent tens of thousands of insurance agents, brokers and their employees, as well as the millions of policyholders served by the NFIP, and the communities in which they live and work. The objectives of their efforts are the profitable growth and development of the NFIP on an actuarially sound basis to stand as a premier model of the benefits of combining the efforts of government, businesses, and individuals.

How did FIPNC start?

The Flood Insurance Producers National Committee (FIPNC) was formed by the Federal Insurance Administrator in 1982 to assist the Administrator in improving and expanding the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), its book of business, and the communities participating in the NFIP. The purpose of FIPNC is to be a direct and honest communication channel for the Administrator, as well as provide real marketplace and program operational experiences about NFIP.
